Care packages on an adhoc basis:

2 hours of postpartum care $120

 

More comprehensive care packages:

2 hours per week for 3 weeks $340

2 hours per week for 6 weeks $670

 

What does a postpartum doula package include?

We will have an initial chat around what support looks like for you and set some ideas down. Postpartum doula care usually consists of a mixture of:

​

Emotional support: 

• Chatting about your pregnancy and birth experience

• Support on questions around newborns

• Feeding support both breast and bottle

• Listening to any worries you have, any concerns or things that you’re not sure about, and suggesting professionals with different scopes that may help in other areas 

​

Physical support:

• Tasks that need tending to around the house like washing up dishes, folding laundry, putting a load of washing on, making the bed, tidying away your living space, and so on 

• Making cups of tea and/or coffee

• Preparing nourishing food and serving it to you. I will always bring snacks to our visits, and when I’m with you I can prepare lunch or dinner for you and your family 

• Baby care: holding pēpi while you sleep/rest/shower, accompanying you on light walks if you feel like it while I baby wear and let your body settle into gentle movement, help with bathing baby

• Playing with older children, reading to them, or simply tending to baby while you spend time with them! I know what it’s like to miss the big kid(s) when you’re in the newborn trenches 

• Coming to any appointments with you, or to anywhere you would like to go, but don’t feel like going solo

• Pick up basics from the supermarket that you might need, or prescriptions etc

• Gentle massage to ease aching shoulders, neck, body from birth and holding a newborn
